This is the day the hujjaj leave for Madinah. Begin this sacred journey by reciting the following duaas:
In the name of Allah, I have placed my trust in Allah, and there is no power or might except by Allah.
Allah is the most great (x3). Glory is to Him Who has provided this for us though we could have have had it by our efforts. Surely unto our Lord we are returning. O Allah, we ask You on this journey for goodness and piety, and for works that are pleasing to you. O Allah, lighten this journey for us and make its distance easy for us. O Allah, You are our Companion on the road and the One in Whose care we leave our family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from this journey's hardships and from the wicked sights in store and from finding our family and property in misfortune upon returning.
These are the days hujjaj from SFO and JFK flights arrive. Take rest and get settled in. When possible, visit the haram for salah! Make the most of being in the blessed city of our Prophet ﷺ and make sure to send ample salawat upon him.
Sisters, remember that if you are in a state of menstruation, you cannot enter the masjid and that includes the courtyard. While this is extremely difficult, please do not commit a sin by entering the masjid. You can send salawat to the Prophet ﷺ from outside and that would be more pleasing to Allah.

It is about a 2 mile simple walk there and good exercise for Hajj! On the way back, you can grab a golf cart if you are tired, for about 10-20 riyals per person.
Otherwise, take some rest today to preserve energy for tomorrow’s Umrah! If you must finish shopping please do so and get as much ibadah in the Haram here in Madinah as it is our last day here.
Brothers, be sure to purchase your extra 2nd pair of ihraam from Madinah before departing to Makkah.
* Remember, tomorrow we will be performing Umrah. So do take rest and take time to recover if muscles are sore or if sickness is in your system. We will try to hold a mini umrah workshop to answer any last minute questions. This is also where we will enter the state of Ihram and make the intention for umrah together.
Please note, as soon as you make the intention for Umrah, you will be in "Ihram" and all of the prohibitions and rules of ihram will apply to you!
NIGHT:
Upon arrival to Makkah, room keys will be given and 1 hour for everyone to check-in and rest before we meet down in the hotel lobby so that we can perform umrah as a group. Elderly or folks who require a wheelchair (500 Riyals per person) — Moaz will help you all get wheelchair helpers.
Make sure you understand all of the rules of performing umrah as separation from the group is very easy during times of congestion! You may keep the Zidni "A Guide to Hajj and Umrah" with you to help you with each of the steps and duas/recitations. May Allah accept everyone's Umrah!
*Please wear your Al Bait ID Card, Nusuk ID, and Al-Bait backpack. This will help keep identify each other if lost inshaAllah!
This day is free! Relax, rest up for the big days of Hajj. Perform Tawaf, do as much ibadah as possible. Remember that each salah in the haram is worth 100,000!
We will also not be performing a second umrah as a group due to inaccessibility of busses as the roads are locked down. For anyone who wishes to perform a second umrah, there are still taxis and van options. We would like to remind everyone to also focus on rest and recovery, the last thing we want is anyone to get sick before Hajj. May Allah (swt) grant us all afiyah and good health. Ameen.

Today is a free day. Pack your Mina bag. NO rollable carryon bags, only duffle or backpacks. Prepare your duaas. This is the moment before your life changes.
NIGHT:
We will update if we are meeting as a group again.
MORNING:
Today is the day we head to Mina! We will have a bus pick us up from the building and drop us off to our camp in Mina where we will share one large tent (males and females seperated).
We will make our intention for Hajj and get in ihram before leaving Aziziyah. On the way to Mina, be prepared for a long ride with road closures and traffic. Nothing to worry about, arm yourself with the talbiyah. Your Hajj journey starts NOW!
We will also be shortening our prayers from here on out, but not combining.
Night:
Rest, have dinner, and prepare yourselves for Yawmul Arafah!
Have your backpacks packed for Arafah and Muzdalifah.
MORNING:
Today is the day of Arafah! Busses will pick us up from Mina.
BE Ready by 8:30 AM! All you need to take is your backpack. No carryon, duffel bags, etc...
NOON:
We as a group will not be climbing Jabal Rahma because of the heat. It's best to make duaa in your tent. If able, go out and stand under the sun and make duaa. The heat of the sun will remind you of the Day of Judgement when the sun will be one mile away and people will be sweating according to their evil deeds. Standing outside with no shade will remind you of the Day there is no shade but the shade of Allah. This will push you to call upon Allah with more sincerity and desperation.
EVENING:
Right before maghrib, we will have the group gather near the entrance where our shuyukh will lead us in an emotional group duaa. You don't want to miss this!
After maghrib comes, we will wait to pray until we reach Muzdalifah, where we will combine and shorten maghrib and isha. It's best to use the bathroom in Arafah and try to keep your wudhu til we reach Muzdalifah. Be prepared that busses may take a while to reach us and transport us to Muzdalifah. Stay hydrated, make sure to eat the snacks provided in Arafah, and grab the sleeping bags and sheets/blankets provided from Al Bait so you can rest in Muzdalifah.
Continue reciting the talbiyah and ask Allah (swt) for forgiveness, as Allah (swt) says, "then depart from the place the people depart from (i.e. Arafah) and ask Allah for His forgiveness, certainly Allah is abundantly forgiving, constantly merciful" (2:199).
When you reach Muzdalifah, be sure to collect your stones. You will need a minimum of 49 stones.
This will be our busiest day!
MORNING:
After spending the night resting in Muzdalifah, pray fajr when it first comes in and make duaa and dhikr until just before sunrise, like our Prophet ﷺ did. A group of us that are able and have energy will walk to Mina. The rest will wait in Muzdalifah for the busses to transport to Mina.
After arriving in Mina, we will take rest and depart for jamarat by 4PM. We will stone ONLY Jamarat Aqaba with 7 pebbles.
AFTERNOON/EVENING
The group will walk back to Mina. If you want to do all the pillars today, you may make your way to the haram and perform your tawaf al-ifadah. Once you have returned to Mina, you can shave your hair if you are a man and trim if you are a woman. Once your hady is confirmed, your Hajj is complete and you can exit out of the state of ihram.
May Allah accept your Hajj, and erase your sins, and replenish your provisions. (Al-Tabarani)
This is a day of eating and drinking and remembering Allah (swt). We will reside in our Mina tents and walk to the jamarat and pelt all 3 (al-Jamrah al-Sughra first, followed by al-Wusta, then Jamrat al-`Aqabah).
Spend your time in dhikr of Allah (swt), as He says, "And remember Allah during the appointed days (i.e. the days of tashreeq)..." (2:203). The Prophet ﷺ also said, "The days of tashreeq are days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He." [Sahih]
In Mina, we will pray each prayer on time, but shorten dhuhr, asr, and isha to two rak'ahs. If you did not perform your tawaf al-ifadah, today is the day to do so, or you may wait until tomorrow.
The majority of our group, including guides, will leave on this day back to Aziziyah via bus. We will then perform the ramy' (stoning) in the afternoon. This should be a shorter walk from Aziziyah to the jamarat.
For those wanting to complete the total 3 days (sunnah) in Mina, busses will take you back to Aziziyah on Saturday, May 30th. Unfortunately only custom flight people who leave from the 31st onward can realistically stay the 3rd sunnah day.
We are embarking upon the end of our sacred journey. Be ready to leave for the airport 8 hours before departure time due to rush and traffic. Exact timings will be updated on Telegram. Please note that you should complete the Tawaf Al-Wada'a (Farewell Tawaf) as the last thing you do before leaving Makkah. This can be combined with tawaf ifadah if that is the last thing you're doing before leaving.
JFK folks must be ready for departure from aziziyah by 4AM. SFO folks must be ready for departure by 1PM.
We will have Al Bait busses take passengers to JED airport multiple times on each of the days. If you have made any changes to your flight leaving the kingdom (such as taking a different flight), please make sure you have communicated it to Moaz (Zidni Hajj Coordinator) and email your itinerary to hajj@zidniinstitute.org. This is absolutely essential!
